SHORT COURSES ON TRAJECTORY OPTIMIZATION
I offer short courses on trajectory optimization as a paid service. The courses are generally offered in either a one-day or a two-day format. The topics for a one-day course are as follows:
- Introduction to Calculus of Variations
- Optimal Control Theory Using Calculus of Variations
- Pontryagin's Minimum Principle
- Singular Arcs
- Indirect Numerical Methods: Shooting Methods and Collocation Methods
- Direct Numerical Methods: Shooting Methods, Collocation Methods, and a Brief Introduction to Orthogonal Collocation Methods
The two-day adds the following topics to the one-day course:
- Introduction to Nonlinear Optimization and Nonlinear Programming
- Extensive Methodology Development of Orthogonal Collocation Methods
- Synthesis of Computational Framework for Optimal Control
- Introduction to Optimal Control Software GPOPS-II
The one-day course is approximately six hours of lecture time (three hours in the morning and afternoon) while the two day course is approximately ten hours of lecture time (four additional hours on the second day of the course). The cost of the courses is as follows:
- One-Day Course: $12000.00
- Two-day Course: $18,000.00
